    🤔 Have you ever looked up in the sky and asked yourself what are the stars made of? How do they work? As it turns out, the answer to this question lies in the two models of atomic structure created by two great scientists: Bohr and Rutherford.

    😎 The Bohr model of the atom was the first model to explain how atoms are structured. It was created by Danish physicist Niels Bohr in 1913. This model proposed that electrons orbit the nucleus of an atom in separate orbits at certain distances. According to the Bohr model, an electron can only occupy designated orbits and its energy changes depending on which orbit it occupies.

    😮 On the other hand, the Rutherford model of the atom was proposed by Ernest Rutherford in 1911. This model suggests that an atom is made up of a number of positively charged protons and neutrons located in the nucleus, and that the electrons orbit the nucleus in a cloud-like structure. Unlike Bohr’s model, the Rutherford model does not assign specific energy levels to the electrons; instead, it suggests that the electrons can occupy any energy level.

    🤓 So, what’s the difference between the Bohr and Rutherford models of the atom? Firstly, the Bohr model suggests that electrons occupy specific orbits and have specific energy levels, while the Rutherford model suggests that electrons occupy any energy level and can be anywhere in the electron cloud. Secondly, the Bohr model allows us to calculate the energy levels of the electron, while the Rutherford model does not. Finally, the Bohr model is a static model, while the Rutherford model is a dynamic model.
